I referenced two other comics here (Checkerboard Nightmare and Penny Arcade) in which there are two characters whose hair is drawn very similarly to Karen’s (those characters were first). If you don’t know of them, this comic probably makes very little sense.

Also, while making this joke about Karen’s hair, I realized that Jacob also looked kind of similar to the other character from Penny Arcade, Tycho.

I’ve since fixed Karen, but ironically, Jacob probably looks more like Tycho now than he ever did at the time of this comic.
